A typewritten entry on the headstone application indicates he also served from 1904 to 1931 which is partially corroborated by enlistment records for 1904 and 1907 as well as records of transport in 1919 and 1925. A handwritten entry next to the typewritten entry lists the dates as November 28 1928 to December 31 1930.⁸ He married Rose Little before 7 May 1935. There is a newspaper article referring to Albert and his wife Rose with respect to a mortgage on a home in Florida.^1,9 He married Bettina Stillwell on 29 June 1944 in California, USA. This is based on the fact that Albert listed himself as single or widowed in the US Census from 1920 on and in 1952 he was living with Bettina in Laguna Beach.^10,11,12 In 1952 Albert Bullock van Patten lived on 684 Thalia, Laguna Beach, Orange, California, USA.
