Her death certificate indicates she was born March 31, 1880.2,1 She was the daughter of John Bullock Pettit and Caroline Tiff Hall.1 She married Carl Emerson Beardsley on 18 July 1901 in Benkelman, Dundy, Nebraska, USA. The paper notes that Carl was a telegraph operator working in Benkelman but his home was in Barr, Colorado.3,1 She and Carl Emerson Beardsley were divorced before 1916; I found no record of a divorce. Carl was living in Denver Colorado with his married sister and mother on the 1910 census so they probably separated priorto 1910.4 She married Clarence Zala Matteson on 4 December 1916 in Phillips County, Colorado, USA.5 She died on 6 May 1951 in Jefferson, Greene, Iowa, USA, at age 71.6,2 She was buried after 6 May 1951 in Benkelman Cemetery, Benkelman, Dundy, Nebraska, USA.7

Her children Hazel and Asa and her mother Caroline Tiff Hall were listed as living with her.9 She and Clarence Zala Matteson appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Benkelman, Dundy, Nebraska, enumerated 19 January 1920, Anna's daughter Hazel is enumerated as head of household. Their children Hazel and Asa were listed as living with them.10 She and Clarence Zala Matteson appeared on the 1950 Federal Census of Benkelman, Dundy, Nebraska, enumerated 11 April 1950.11
