    "Born in Glenville Nov 17, (1756). He lived there during the war and afterwards moved to Rotterdam. Early in 1776 he enrolled under Capt John VAN PATTEN, 2nd Albany Militia, serving as drummer. In the fall of the same year he performed garrison duty at Fort Edward and Fort Ann, and in the summer of 1777 he was at Fort Edward. He served -- mths during Schuyler's retreat, after which he was taken sick and permitted to return home. In 1778 he performed garrison duty at the Schoharie Forts and later went on several tours in pursuit of Tories. A pensioner under the Act of June 7, 1832." (Hanson.)
