Personal Information

  • Name-Var Muriel Cecile La Valle
Muriel Irene Couch was also known as Muriel Cecile La Valle. I believe Muriel Couch and Muriel Cecile La Valle are the same person. I think she used some imagination in the marriage in California in 1922. Her last name, birthplace, residence and father don't match but her mother does and she lists her occupation as musician in the marriage document. She was listed as a piano player in the 1920 census. I am wondering if she never actually married in Washington when she was attempting to get cusody of her children.

    Birth: 8 November 1901 | California, USA
Death: 3 June 1966 | Walla Walla County, Washington, USA
She married C Bernal Kahrs in 1918. It appears that Muriel may not have been legally married when she was trying for custody of the kids and later did marry C Bernal Kahrs in California. The 1918 date in the newspaper article may have been her 'cover story' during the custody trial, otherwise why would she re-marry in 1922?
